STAGING — not a public launch. Curated dishes below, with live search and craving suggestions from the deployed Worker. Cards always show even if the Worker is unreachable. Web results are labelled web and are NEVER LOCKED and NEVER above curated results. Japanese cards show the original quantity first, with the US addition alongside — the original wins if they disagree.
Search ranking is not domestic popularity — this app shows why.
Hindi sites were found: Nisha Madhulika (Hindi Dal page, 2007, ~2.2M views), Sanjeev Kapoor (Hindi Dal search), Everyday Veg Cooking (bilingual), EveryBite (Roman Hindi Paneer). What v2 showed is different: for new dishes, a Hindi-script search in this engine returned US sites for Aloo Gobi and YouTube videos for Rajma, and missed Nisha entirely — even though Nisha is domestic-popular. So this app searches the curated list first, and treats a top-5 search miss as a search limit, not as proof a site is not domestic.
Pantry + equipment filter — tick what you have, show only dishes you can makeFavorites + grocery list — heart dishes, then generate a shopping list minus your pantry
Tap ♡ Favorite on any locked card. Favorites save in this browser only, like pantry. Grocery list has a combined section (amounts summed only when units match; ranges and vague amounts listed separately, never summed) plus per-dish sections, ingredient names only, minus what you already have ticked in your pantry — with a try-first store for each ingredient, plus a shop-by-store grouping.
Web favorites
Taste explorer — find a dish by flavor — first version; tags are my read of each card, tell me what's off
Pick one or more flavors (a dish matches if it has any of them), type an ingredient you have, pick a time. Dishes without a flavor tag yet, and dishes whose time the card doesn't state, always show — nothing is hidden for lack of data. Picking a culture button above resets this view.
Same dish, different countries
Same idea, different countries — pick a family, then a dish to see its card. Differences are from the cards themselves, nothing invented.
Request a dish — queue the next dish to lock (requests only, never recipes)
Live search — powered by the deployed Worker
Craving?
Curated cards (always shown, even if live search fails)
Data source for the future Worker: curated-domestic-list.json (v2, in this goal workspace). Native-speaker check is PARKED (Brock, 2026-10-29: no access to one yet) — not a staging blocker. Phone test in a real browser is the current step before any public launch.
